Chelsea Shanoff teaches saxophone at the University of Toronto, is an active member of Thin Edge New Music Collective, and curates at the Music Gallery. She has performed with notable groups such as the National Ballet Orchestra, Niagara Symphony Orchestra, Contact Contemporary Ensemble, the Bicycle Opera Project, Sinfonia Toronto, and Toy Piano Composers.
Chelsea received her Masters of Music from Arizona State University, where she studied saxophone performance with Dr. Timothy McAllister. She received her Honours Bachelors of Music degree in saxophone performance from the University of Toronto, studying under Dr. Wallace Halladay. Chelsea is a certified yoga instructor and enjoys leading "Yoga for Musicians" classes and workshops, as well as incorporating yoga techniques into her teaching methods. Chelsea is currently in the DMA program at the University of Toronto where she is researching the connection between music performance anxiety and muscular tension in woodwind performers.
