Interprovincial Music Camp
IMC has been providing young musicians the unique opportunity to participate in Orchestral, Band, Jazz, Rock, Musical Theatre, and Songwriting programs since 1961.
Interprovincial Music Camp (IMC) is an overnight summer music camp that offers young musicians the unique opportunity to participate in orchestral, band, jazz, rock, musical theater, and songwriting programs while enjoying the wonderful setting of one of Canada’s finest summer camp facilities. Founded in 1961 by Ben and Sheila Wise, IMC is a Non-Profit, Non-Sectarian Charitable Foundation serving young musicians ages 9 through 18.

Mission Statement
Interprovincial Music Camp (IMC) provides young Canadian musicians with exceptional musical training and unforgettable summer camp experiences that last a lifetime. Participants will improve their musical abilities, develop friendships with teenagers from across Canada, and forge a life-long love of the performing arts.
IMC teaching faculty members are some of North America’s finest performers and educators. Joining us from top orchestras and leading colleges and universities, our instructors bring with them a wealth of teaching experience and performing skills. Members of the teaching staff are passionate about sharing their love of music with young musicians.
We welcome feedback on our camp programs and services and their accessibility. If you have any feedback please call 416-488-3316 or email info@campimc.ca.
IMC is committed to providing an environment that is inclusive and that is free of barriers based on age, race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, and disability. Everyone will be treated with the principles of dignity, individualization and inclusion in the accommodation process.
Our Team

ANNE FLEMING-READ (Director)
Anne is the face of IMC.
Anne began her career at IMC as a camper, playing violin in the orchestra. After several exciting seasons as a camper she became a mentor and then spent several seasons as head staff. Some of Anne’s closest friendships and fondest memories were developed at IMC.
Anne has been the Director of IMC for more than 30 years. Under her leadership, IMC has grown to include several exciting, innovative programs. Her commitment to IMC doesn’t end on Labour Day. She works tirelessly throughout the year, speaking to parents, attending conferences and camp shows, coordinating staff, faculty and programs for each new season.

Scott Harrison (Assistant Director)
Scott Harrison is the Head of Music at Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School, a school with a very long and proud history of musical excellence. He is very involved with music education in Ontario and has held positions organizing regional, provincial, and national honour bands since 2011. He is a Past President of the Canadian Band Association and the Ontario Band Association and is currently the Canadian Representative on the International Board of Phi Beta Mu, the International Bandmasters Fraternity. The OBA presented Scott with a Lifetime Membership in 2020.
Along with this he is the former Pipe Major of the Toronto Police Grade 2 Pipe Band, which he led to a 3rd place finish at the North American Pipe Band Championships in 2019. Under his direction the band was undefeated in 2018 and won the Ontario Championship Supreme award from the Pipers & Pipe Band Society of Ontario in 2017 and 2018. The band won four straight US Open Championships, and the 2018 North American Championship under Scott’s guidance

AMY ABBOTT (Assistant Director)
Amy has been a part of the IMC family since 2000 when she took on the role as a mentor. Since, she has acted in the Head Staff role, working on Logistics and now helps out as an Assistant Director. Some of Amy’s most fond memories and valued friendships happened in the most ridiculous moments of camp leadership!
Outside of her camp life, Amy is a music teacher at Thomas A. Blakelock high school in Oakville. As a teacher, Amy values the magical experience of touring and she has had the opportunity to travel with students to Chicago, Halifax, Boston and even China! She values her work with the Creative Process and pushing students to further grasp their understanding of Transferable Skills and how music can benefit them in any occupation where they find themselves in an adult life.
Amy is thrilled to be back at camp with her kids to join in the fun and can’t wait to see what new experiences will come in generations of future musicians.

Emerson Kafarowski (Technical Production Director)
Emerson (she/they) is an independent Stage Lighting Designer and Technical Director based in Tkaronto, Ontario. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Technical Theatre & Design program, they design primarily for dance, theatre, and opera performances, and tour with productions across Canada, the U.S, and Europe.
A life-long musician, Emerson first attended IMC as a camper in 2013 for 4 seasons where she made some of her fondest childhood memories. After a couple of years away from camp, Emerson wanted to give back the amazing experience they had at IMC, and decided to return as a Mentor for 3 more awesome seasons before becoming a part of the Head Staff team as the Logistics Assistant in 2021.
Now as the Technical Production Director, Emerson is responsible for coordinating and managing IMC’s ever-evolving technical equipment and musical instrument needs each year. Collaborating with our generous partners and sponsors, she is thrilled to be able to bring high quality performance experiences to campers of all programs and skill levels!
