Julia Jung
Julia Jung is currently a secondary school music teacher with the DPCDSB at St. Aloysius Gonzaga C.S.S in Mississauga, Ontario. She graduated with a Master of
Teaching from OISE UT and was the first OISE student to complete the M.T. program with Music as a specialty. Ms. Jung has been the DPCDSB Music Subject Council chair for the past 17 years and is greatly dedicated to supporting music programs within all schools and school boards. She has been a clinician in the GTA and continues to be deeply committed to being a strong community liaison between elementary school and high school music programs in Mississauga for almost two decades.
In 2024, Ms. Jung was the honoured recipient of the Tommy Banks/National Arts Council Orchestra Outstanding Jazz Director Award by MusicFest Canada. She is very passionate about educating students from the introductory to advanced levels of musical experience and teaches grades 9-12 at St. Aloysius Gonzaga S.S. in
Mississauga, Ontario. There she currently conducts multiple ensembles, including concert bands, chamber ensembles and jazz bands. She strongly believes that every child deserves the opportunity for a music education, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities, and that they will benefit no matter what they choose to pursue in the future.
