Mentor Responsibilities

Our mentors play an important role in making camp a safe, fun, and meaningful experience for every camper. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing general supervision and support, with a focus on camper health and safety
  • Living in a cabin with campers and helping create a positive, inclusive environment
  • Making sure campers attend meals and all scheduled rehearsals/sessions
  • Helping to organize and supervise evening programs and activities
  • Sitting in on classes and rehearsals, with the opportunity to observe and learn from faculty teaching and conducting
  • Mentors must be at least 18 years old, responsible, and enthusiastic. They are often outstanding university, college, or senior high school students who have a passion for working with young people, music, and camp life. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take on leadership roles are essential. Musical experience is not required, though it is always an asset.
